Brian's bio

Hello..

What to say.. well ... I was born very very young,

K . seriously,

I started tattooing at around 14 years old, after watching my biker uncle tattoo friends.

I guess they thought it would be cool to have me tattoo them being I did a lot of drawing.

Around 16 I was tattooing my friends, this didn't go over well with the parents,

but I was well on my way to raising myself and didn't think their opinions mattered.

In around 1990 I got laid off from a job and it was suggested I go apply at the local tattoo shop in town.

I was already tattooing friends for what ever they'd give me and Seeing her logic I decided to do just that.

I went to my first shop in Stevens Point WI.," Kustom Body Art" and asked if he needed help.

Rocky Newman, the owner, decided rather fast to have me there being his other help, Dave, just broke his hand.

It was a few weeks later I got my first machines, inks, and supplies I needed.

My first thoughts were how hard this was, how I could do so much better with my home-made "Guns".

But soon, I got comfortable with the professional equipment and was on my way.

I did quite a few shows with Rocky, a lot of what I see now as gypsy tattooing,

but the experiences I got have been priceless.

Shop drama there, back then, seen me on my way to my own shop.

My first shop was in Stevens Point "Shotguns Tattooing", that, was in a Harley shop called D n J cycle.

I left that shop for personal reasons and ended up in  Moundsview Minnesota running a dance agency

with my new girlfriend, that, took my all over the upper Midwest as far as Montana.

I opened shop in Moundsview MN. for a little while and business called us back to Wisconsin.

I opened in Menasha WI. around 1992 ish, and was there almost 4 years.

I met some pretty interesting people around this time like Shawn Anderson,

who I thought, became a pretty good  friend,

I was impressed with a lot he showed me along with his background with Sailor Moses and others.

I learned a lot artistically and artistically this was a turning point in my life,

AND THAT TO CALL ONES MOTHER A WHORE

IS A LESSER OFFENCE,

THAN TO CALL THE SACRED INSTRUMENT OF TATTOOING

 A "GUN"!

IT'S A MACHINE!

Now before any drama queens get their panties stuck in their ass,

I am not implying, that I apprenticed with Shawn or anyone for that matter,

I'm just stating some of my influences and people that I am grateful to.

From there I went to Manitowoc WI., was there maybe 6 months,

though I had some cool friends there, the town just wasn't for me.

Yes and yet more life lessons.

In 1996 I opened in Appleton WI. and changed the name of my shop to Electric Images and

 incorporated. It became a "studio".

See my life to this point in time, was all about being a biker, living in the fast lane,

partying like a rock star and well you could say I grew tired of life kicking me in the nuts.

So walah.. Electric Images Inc. was born.

I still had a lot of old baggage and old "friends" around and life still had more lessons to give me..

Yes more learning!!!!!! any who.. I'm back again... and this time dialed in like never before.

Lost my old "friends" and without distraction am growing in ways never dreamed possible.

Yes I am, what I guess, some would call "Old School",

where we had respect and settled our problems, oh differently than is done today.

I've seen many friends pass, I could write a book on all the crazy things I've seen,

yes I got a pretty good start already.

So what's the point?

WE ARE EITHER KINGS OR PAWNS

A little phrase I'll end with.
